Left to right (all Socks that Rock):
- Fire on the Mountain - I thought I was going to be just like Mike ;) but my skein is lightweight and I think I need to go medium weight due to the pattern stitch count and my wide 9.5" circumferenced feet. (This fact may rule out my newly acquired Wollmeise unless there's a way to alter the pattern stitch count without too much thought?)
- January One medium weight - 'cause it's almost a fall color scheme
- Thistle medium weight - but it's not a fall color scheme
- and lastly, an unnamed medium weight mill end my friend bought me when she went to the STR camp this spring, but it's similar to the whole chicken series.
Right now I'm waffling between January One and the mill end. Any thoughts?

I like the January one - for the reason you listed!
Hmmm... I kinda like the mill end...
Can I say how insanely jealous I am that you have all that STR! ;)
Soo hard to pick, all the colorways are gorgeous!
wow my january one doesn't look at all like yours (mine is brown and hot pink and light grey/lavendar and rust) but i would recommend not picking the thistle because it is so high contrast (i knit a pair of sidewinders in thistle earlier this month). also, for modifying the pattern all you need is to modify the number of pattern repeats across the top and bottom of the foot, i don't think it would be that hard to figure out. i modified the length of the foot with the number of cable chart repeats, but you could also modify the circumference of the sock by adding or removing 3 stitches to the top and bottom of the foot (total adding or removing 6 stitches) to increase or decrease the circumference of the tube respectively.
I love the January One too!
Thanks Fabienne for all those great tips! If I do go with the lightweight or my Wollmeise, I may just do what you suggested.
Right now I'm leaning towards my mill end since my friend (who I bought it off of) and another STR buddy are also voting that way.
I'd go for the Mill end too, that way it would be unique! :)
