Hi Everyone!

Well, I am also getting started with this. I decided to use some Panda Cotton in the Red Cinnamon colorway. I hadn't used this yarn before, but since we have a pending move to India, where wool socks will have little use (!), I am trying to branch out and try cooler fibers. I was finding the yarn a little difficult to work with at first, as it splits easily and doesn't have the stretch that wool does. This was making magic loop and cabling without a needle a little difficult. So, I switched to 2 circ's and am using the inactive circ' tip as a cable needle when needed. This is working out. Yay! I really like the design. Thanks for sharing it with all of us Marjan!

Absolutely gorgeous! I am having a bit of trouble translating the chart (the cabling part). Did it all make sense to you from the start? Or did you do some mental acrobatics or am I making this more difficult than it is?

Good question. Since it didn't work out for me to do the cable w/o a needle like is called for in the pattern (because of my yarn) I just had to translate the symbols into right or left twist/cables. To be honest I couldn't tell you if I am doing it perfectly correctly or not- probably should check that!- I was just doing what made sense while making note of whether the stitch ended up as a K or P in the round above. Does this make sense? I hope it helps!

I will try reading the instructions again to try to see if I am doing it correctly and will post again if I find anything startling :)

Thank you for showing the close up - honestly, I have struggled a bit with the symbols too - only because they look different than I am used to. I was stumped as to when to cable, on the first row of the "four square" or the second - I decided on the first and I think it is looking like it should, this close-up helps me to compare. I had to do some "mental acrobatics" (love that) too trying to use two circs and to have the right number of stitches moved where they needed to go. But I think I'm on track now:)

Actually, after analyzing this further, I realized that what I am doing is switching the stitches (using an extra needle tip) according to the arrows (the stitch with the arrow is the one that will end up in front) and then knitting or purling according to what is indicated (easiest to tell by looking at the round above).
Hope that this helps anyone who might be confused!
